 About the Society

The Westwego Historical  was founded in 1997 by Daniel P. Alario, Sr. after interest in the City's past had been renewed with the publication of his book, "Westwego: From Cheniere to Canal."  Today the organization, which  includes over 150 members,  is active in numerous major historical and revitalization projects in Salaville, the City's historic district.
