The
Westwego Historical was founded in 1997 by Daniel P. Alario, Sr.
after interest in the City's past had been renewed with the publication
of his book, "Westwego: From Cheniere to Canal." Today the
organization, which includes over 150
members, is active in numerous major historical and
revitalization projects in Salaville, the City's historic
district.
